Call for Papers (pdf) WHNC is a pioneering conference focusing on low cost semiconductor device production, wireless sensing systems, security features appropriate for these systems, research and solutions for the design, manufacture, deployment, and implementation of cooperative sensor networks, information systems and application infrastructures. This conference addresses the challenges facing the organic semiconductors “pennies per device” production, integrated logic, ROM, antenna and battery design, and integration of embedded platforms, applications and wireless interfaces. The conference will feature keynote addresses from leading experts, presentations of innovative technology advances, and panel discussions on pertinent topics. Attendees also benefit from our co-location with National Instrument’s NIWeek 2008 exhibitions and conference.Authors are invited to submit full 3 to 6-page papers in the IEEE conference format presenting new research, innovations, and implementations related to the theory and practice of systems, sensor technologies, and related information system support. All submissions must describe original work not previously published or currently under review for publication in another conference or journal. Papers must be submitted by May 15, 2008. Topic areas include, but are not limited to: · Device Technology: Low-cost, printer based semiconductor, conductive polymers organic semiconductors, battery and antenna processes, power management. · System Architecture and Implementation: Mesh multi-hop network protocols and architecture, scalable deployment technologies. · Applications: Warehousing, biochemistry, bridge and other structures stress studies, perimeter and ecology monitoring, tele-health, building lighting and energy control. · Security: Privacy protection, network integrity, path assurance · Legislative Environment and Regulatory Policy: Advanced Metering Infrastructure, energy demand management, demand response systems · Cognitive Radio: Intelligent wireless communication, autonomous agents, machine learning, user, environment and service awareness, RF-domain intelligence, language and visual perception and software defined radio. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the IEEE conference proceedings and in IEEE Xplore. A Best Paper Award will be awarded to the best technical paper accepted and presented at the conference. |
